Sculptures of two birds guarding the entrance gate symbolize the main ideas behind the creation of the retreat: One of them brings information to the garden from the greater cosmos and the higher realms of existence and share them with all who seek creative evolution of the mind. The other bird brings back information of the values, meaning and visions created by these informed minds to all people and cultures with the goal of building a universal cultural platform for a healthier society.
Djupvik
Djupvik, where the Garden is situated, lies about five minutes driving distance from Vik i Sogn towards Vangsnes. It enjoys one of the most spectacular landscapes in Western Norway surrounded by fjords, glaciers and mountains. It is situated near the widest and deepest part of the largest fjord of Norway called Sognefjord. Within fifteen minutes of driving distance the scene changes from a vibrant green nature to snow clad white mountains, where one may go for skiing. The garden is situated in the middle of an apple orchard and provides opportunities to swim in the fjord during the summer time. Its exceptional natural beauty and peace invite people to visit the place during all seasons of the year.
Vik i Sogn was once a center of the Vikings in the Viking Age. It has grave mounds dating from the 5th century and two churches from the 12th century – one is a stone church and the other is a Stave Church, which is among the most beautiful stave churches in Norway. It takes approximately six hours by car from Oslo to reach the place. The car journey includes two rides on car-

Garden is built on the premise of a small firm
Mother of Ragne Birte Lund, Unn Lund built in late 1970s a summer house in the spot where garden stands today at the plot parceled to her by her father Lasse Djupvik, who ran a small firm. Ragne inherited the property in 2000. Together with her husband Anup Rej she extended the house in 2010 and started the work in building a Culture Garden, which is inspired by mythology, cosmos, and universal symbolisms from different cultures of the world. The garden, among others, includes a bird gate, granite sculptures, fountains, waterfall, flower mandala, philosophers`bench, Valknut of Odin and Triskelion of the Celts, boulders of exceptional geological interests and flowers and plants tended by loving hands.

ATELIER
The building in the garden houses an atelier of Anup Rej, named “Windows of Light”, where he does his art works during the summer months.
